wait.. i know the answer.....I have always snorkled but now do both snorkle ans scuba. very important those 2 equiptment are crucial...the mask could be cheap or expensive but it has to seal and fit your face especially your nose, you are goig to have to pinch them to equalize. Your mask will act different from the surface vs 50 feet down , where there is more preasure and it might leak if you do not have a propper fit...
...fins is another animal, if you are wearing stiff fins that can give you the acceleration, but if you are not use to it it will give you a cramp in your calves or feet or where ever the tension is too much. if you get those fancy split fin they are more forgiving, but slower acceleration........buy it from a good company with a return policy............good luck
