Malachite Green for Ich

Has anyone used malachite green for ich?
Is it safe for coral, shrimp, anemones?
Can I use it safely in my original tank?
Any suggestions on its use would be appreciated.
Thanks

Also in setting up quarantine tanks do I just get a regular cleaning sponge and put it in my tank for a few weeks?
I have a Bio-Wheel filtration system. Should I put it in the filter area there?

I thought malachite green was for FW, not salt....Since the search engine is hard to access, maybe google it.

But the answer is going to be quarantine the fish in a QT tank for 4-6 weeks...period. Maybe feed w/ garlic while in QT to boost immune system and intice feeding. That's the only sure fire way. You must remove from display for 4-6 weeks. No quick cure in SW..sorry

malchalite green does not work, well for me I didn't. It also dies all your silicone gren and anything else in the tank that it can be absorbed into. Take out the effected fish and If I were you I would use copper, many people are against it as it is not the best for your fish. I have used it a lot and it always works as long as you test it and keep it in the range. I would not use malchalite green since it's not effective and ruins everything in the tank because it turns everything green. Good luck

Garlic needs to be finely minced, as small as you can get it....then add it to the food w/ some tank water....let this soak for a little while to get the garlic in the food.

When I've fed my fish this they actually eat the garlic as well. It's no cure for ich, but helps to boost their immune system.

Basically quarantining is going to be the answer, and don't use the malachite green. It probably says for "tropical fish" on it but they are referring to freshwater "tropicals" not Marine fish.

Do not add copper to your display tank!! only use in a quarantine tank. Copper will kill your inverts and once in the tank will always be there to some extent.

yeah don't use copper in the display, I have done that with live rock, and although it took a long time to get out I have now converted it to a reef.
