Male charging female clown

I bought a couple of occelaris about 2 weeks ago. They are suppose to have bred before and by the size of the female I wouldn't have any reason to doubt it. I know it could take a bit for them to get back to their breeding cycle until they are more familiar with their surroundings. I am seeing some weird behavior from the male though. He will back away from the female and charge at her like 3 or 4 consecutive times. She gets tired of this and nips at him, then he will back down. Anyone ever seen anything like this?
