mandarin and clownfish OK together?

I'm just wondering if a mandarin and a clown would be okay together in a 12gal aquapod? These are the only 2 fish I plan on keeping. I have had a mandarin in this same tank the last time I had it running and never had a problem feeding him manually plus I kept the pod population up with a seperate 3 gallon tank just for raisning amphipods and copepods. Im also starting a refugium soon so that should help pod population. I'm just worried the clown will eat all the pods. Are clownfish aggressive eaters?

Mandarins need a much larger, well-established tank. Clowns are fine in a 12g.

Clowns & mandarins are fine together. Everything ignores my mandarin. Your pod situation will be an issue though...

Clownfish and mandarin go well together. Tank needs to be 7 x that size. At least.

Thanks everybody I think for now I will go with the clown, just got him today he or she seams to love the tank already It is swimming joyfully around eating my pods,LOL. Can I add a second of the same type and they become a pair?

eh it varies, my clowns and mandarin havent gotten along and the clowns end up biting and even killing the mandarin even when the mandarin is much larger and these are ocellaris clowns im talking about.

Yes, you can add a 2nd fairly easy depending on species, (should know and list species)just make sure to add one fairly small, like inch to inch and a quarter, no bigger, to make sure you don't have two females.
Also you will want same species, unless yours is an occellaris or percula, and those can be crossed.
If your existing clown is already that small you may be able to get another same size, or maybe bigger if done soon/before sex change, but safest is always add a small clown, and best intro is in a specimen container/breeder box so you can observe the existing before releasing to avoid excessive aggression.
