mandarin and leopard wrasse question

Assuming I can get both eating meaty foods (I can purchase them already eating prepared foods)- could two of them work in an elos 70 (56gal) together?

There will be plenty of copepods, etc. and if they are both eating prepared foods, I think it will be okay, but I wanted to get some other opinions.

They get agressive towards it? That is interesting. Maybe I can get the mandarin first and add the leopard later on.

My leopards are about 5-6 years old and came at the same time. The scooter blenny came afterwards. Perhaps order of introduction will work but I don't want to speculate.

Do leopard wrasses eat more pods than yellow coris wrasses?

Relative to the size of the fish; assuming that's equal, they'll consume about the same.

Thank you! I have seen the yellow coris and mandarin in a 60cube before and both are fat / healthy. Of course each tank is different, but as long as they are eating, I think they should do well in my tank as well.

I had a leopard and a mandarin together for a little over a year then the mandarin disappeared a few weeks back...I'm assuming the leopard ate all his food...I was really bummed bc the mandarin was my longest tank resident! His name was marcus lattimore of course! This was in a 90g byw

M. bipartus and M. meleagris (both females). I attempted to add a healthy wild caught mandarin 2 years after the leopards were established and had to remove it.

I have a mated (every night) pair of mandarins in my other tank and am afraid to even think about a leopard or anampses.

My LFS owner (and very trusted source, bio grad school, worked at sea world), doesn't see a problem with it as long as both are healthy and eating prepared foods as well.

He wants to get my tank very established before adding, but once my tank is running a very consistent pod population, the mandarin will be added, and once he is eating prepared as well... I will add the leopard and do the same process.


A different local store has had a yellow coris wrasse and mandarin in the same 60cube for over a year and both are as fat as can be.
