Mandarin feeding

I have had a mandarin goby in my 10 gallon tank for about 2 weeks so I have had some luck. He has to be picking on something right. But latley ive noticed the middle of his body below so his stomache looks a little down. Soim wondering whats the easiest way to get him to eat something besides coepopods.

If your wondering why the heck hes in a 10 gallon in the first place. First I work at a saltwater fish store and I work with a kid my age thats cocky. So I bet him that I could keep it alive for at least 2 months in a small tank. Second I just love them, they are awesome fish and I could not put him in my 300 which would be ideal because its an aggressive tank and im sure he will be eaten.

I hate to say it but how would you like it if I bet someone I could keep you alive in a box for 2 months without any food? If you work in a fish store and you know anything about Mandarins, you should know that there are not enough pods in a tank of that size and he is not going to do well.
Get him out of there and sell him to someone that is more likely to succeed with him.

So, how much are you going to lose? You might consider a different line of work.

It didnt start off as a bet. I really have always wanted mandarin. I have a 300 that would be perfect but its an extremly aggresive tank and it would end up as a snack. Im trying my hardest to get it to eat mysis because at my store it was picking at mysis

I would suggest giving it away to someone with the means to take care of the fish instead of starving it to death in a ten gallon tank. I've read that by the time you notice it getting thin its already too late though.

If your going to continue with this stunt, I'd suggest nutramar ova prawn roe. (8 should really get a job repping that product as I'm forever recommending it!) But it is an awesome food with broad appeal to all types of fish ime. I hope the fish makes it.

Not trying to go ot but why would u buy a fish like this when u didn't have a proper tank for it. I want a ton of different fish but no room. But u don't see me buying them anyway

Sorry man, but to bet you can keep it alive 2 months, is basically admitting you're going to watch this guy starve, and hope it makes 2 months.
I can't say it's "impossible" to keep one in a 10g, only because if you were able to culture pods and dose daily, or even better multiple times daily you could keep it alive I guess.
Really, you should give it to someone w/ the right setup, preferably someone w/ a good fuge that could let it hang there and scarf pods undisturbed till it's well enough to be put in display.
