Mandarin for red bug control??

Has anyone tried this? Red bugs are just copepods right? I wonder if they would eat the redbugs as well as the copepods?

Does anyone with a mandarin also have redbugs?

They may eat them . Lots of thisngs do but my attempts in the past to keep them under control have proved ineffective. This was before Dustin discovered the interceptor treatment. It is so easy, Why would you want to bother with anything else?
Good luck with them.

I have used interceptor in the past and had good results but have been infected again. I have many acro crabs that I don't want to lose with the interceptor treatment.

I placed a pretty heavily infected coral in a q-tank with my mandarin. I will see what happens.

I tried the mandarin for red bugs years ago without any success.

Green or the red/blue ones?

I was going to add it to the tank anyways, so I will keep my fingers crossed.

I treid the regular green mandarin. Good luck with your. It can't hurt to try. The only problem may be that when you end up treating with interceptor it will kill most of your food source for the mandarin.

If it does come to that I will move the mandarin to my 180g tank.

RB are soooooo tiny. I can't imagine a mandarin eating them...or even seeing them.

I've known multiple people to get red bug infestations that have mandarins. Usually their concern is, what am I going to do with (feed) the mandarin while I treat with Interceptor and kill all the pods?
