Mandarin with Damsels

Thoughts on keeping a mandarin in a 55g with 2 damsels. One being a yellowtailed and the other being a 3 striped damsel.

I'm also putting in a Gold striped Maroon clown down the road.

Feeding that mandarin might be another story.
Exactly...I dont suspect damsels to pick on/pester the mandarin, but thats a relatively small system (to keep a large pod population), and I suspect the damsels will devour pods along with your mandarin.

Id say doable, if the system is appropriately built. U can try to encourage prep food uptake by the fish, also u cant rely on just that alone, they also need some pods to snack on between the main meals. If u keep a patch of hair algae, it should work out fine.

The clown is more likely to be a problem. Maroons are highly territorial and very combative, and mandys don't recognize territory.
