Mangrove Maintenance

Hi,

Can a Mangrove be trimmed at all? The leaves aren't so bad but I might need to give them a trim as they get too dense and bushy. The roots, on the other hand, have grown into a huge mass and will soon choke up the chamber in my refugium in which they live like a house plant becomes pot bound as it outgrows the flower pot.

Any pictures? I've read that mangroves have to be trimmed slowly and in small amounts.

Not at this time. They are in the under display refugium and at the back. You wouldn't tell much by the pic, and I really don't want to disturb them just yet. Maybe when I figure out what to do and take them out for trimming I'll post some before/after pics.
