Making my manifold today to feed my carbon and GFO reactors. My question is, is the little valve that comes with the reactor good enough to shut off the reactor for maintenance or should I put a ball valve then the other valve?
Thanks
Jeff
I prefer redundancy for safety's sake. I put a ball valve before my two reactors, just in case! It really depends how confident you are on the hose connection to that valve, and the valve itself.
idk what reactor you have, but yes a quality push to connect ball valve should have no issues holding pressure back(to its rated capability if stated). i use a gate valve off a manifold to feed my reactor. makes adjusting the flow super easy and painless.
it will work just fine. I've been using the same one for 10+ years now. It will get a bit "crusty" eventually and that makes it a bit difficult to adjust. I have a ball valve inline before my reactors so that I can leave them be and just shut the entire line off.
