Mantis and Maxima clams

Anybody hear of cases of mantis shrimp clubbing maxima clams?

I've seen it happen a few times - usually a large O. s. or G. chiragra.

Ive seen many posts by you gonodactylus. Any recommendations on a small vibrantly colored mantis for a 10 gallon reef? No snails, hermets, crabs, or shrimp just clams.

 

[Gonodactylus]

Gonodactylus smithii or Gonodactylaceus ternatensis. Both are in the 2.5 - 3.5 size range and are as colorful as you can get.

An Odontodactylus brevirostris from Hawaii or O. havanensis from Florida would also be great.

I absolutely love (L-O-V-E...LOVE) my G. ternatensis, name of Mike Tyson! He's gorgeous and has great personality!

got any links to sites that sell mantis shrimp, I'm having a hard time finding any LFS that carry them even harder time classifying them

Many sites sell peacock mantises, but the others are really hard to find. If you'd like a few of those sites, PM me and I'll copy them to you.

I don't have a reeftank, but I look in the reef threads just to see if someone complains that they have a mantis. After you help them catch it, many people will give it to you (or sell it). A few people will even ship it to you if you pay the cost.
