Mantis and paint fumes....

Okay, I am headed down to connecticut and I'm bringing a small tank (2.5 gallon) with a few gallons of premixed saltwater, some aged sand from my 4 month old 10 gallon setup, some aged live rock, a heater, and a powerhead. It will be setup for about a week and it looks like I have lined up a N. wennerae to come back home with me. Now I don't know if I'll leave it in the 2.5 gallon or put it in one of my tens, but here is a question. there is a room downstairs currently being made. It is going to be painted and the fumes are gonna come up through air vents, the floor, etc. through the whole house and probably linger at least a week. Will this kill the mantis? Any ideas to protect it? I'm thinking I might be able to get a local hobbiest to take it until the fumes dissipate, but I would prefer if I could keep it. Thanks fro the help.

I painted my living room ceilings and walls with two tanks in the room with no problems. (That includes my mantis sump tank)

If they'll be using a water based paint I doubt it'll be an issue. Even an oil based paint high in VOCs shouldn't be a problem a couple of rooms away.

If you're still concerned run some carbon during the painting and after for a few days.

Leaving the windows open to vent the fumes will help also.

I've successfully covered my tank with plastic when the floors in my classroom were being stripped and waxed. I used plastic wrap and secured it with elastic or tape.
