I was there this afternoon purchasing some fishes, and I saw that they had one Mantis around 5 inch.

I was so busy that I forgot to ask for how much. Anyone in Maryland that wants to own a Mantis should check it out. Hope it still there.

I bought him today or at least a similar one. He is bigger than 5 inches though. I would estimate at him at 7-8. He is a big boy and really cool looking. Have in my wife's 92 gallon tank now soon to be switched to a smaller tank.

He is doing nicely. Smashed at the side of the container alot while I was dripping him but settled in quickly and went to work digging a couple of burrows. The tank is very stirred up. Hopefully he's done with that for awhile. Ate a couple squid tentacles tonight on the first try and he actually came out and sat right in the front of the tank for about 30 minutes today with the lights on. He isn't very skittish it seems. Hope it stays that way. I'll try to get some pics next time I feed him. Oh we nicknamed him "Scooby" because the fins the the left and right of his eyes look like beagle ears. lol

Nice ... :)
I think it's the same one I saw.
Was it at the last tank.. on the last left side?

Anyway... it looks great.. and mean :)

Yeah, that was the tank I found him in. I fed him a goldfish tonight just to see what his reaction to it would be. When it hit the water his head popped out of his main burrow and it seemed he could sense it's presence. Then he came out and walked around for a minute or two and watched it. Finally it found it's way to the back entrance of his burrow and BAM he grabbed it and took it home. It was interesting to see how calculated and calm he was about the whole thing. He simply weighed the situation and waited for the best opportunity to nail it.
