Went ot uncle bills today on my way to work. They have a huge mantis shrimp. She is a beauty. Never seen one that big in person. Just thought I would hare if anyone wants to see it. They are getting a load of stuff in as well. There prices seem fair. No discount for club members though at least not yet. Some stuff prices are a little high in my opinion others are as good as you will get. Have to look for sale items I guess.
 
I almost picked up that mantis and still might. That thing was absolutely stunning. The first one I've seen in person.

I dont know if my 30 gallon glass would be a good option for the beast. Plus I'd have to move some fish to another tank.

Bills looks like its going to be a very nice saltwater store. They were dropping in the fish when I visited.
 
Smitch, what kind of installs do you do? I use to work at Audio Concepts before they went down the tube doing all the custom audio and dabbed into the car alarm installations. I miss that work. Alot of fun and alot of toys to play with..

Josh, way off topic but why not... I think I've talked to you a few times in the past. I'd come in to buy parts that classic wouldnt have in stock.

My real name is Chris. I have worked for best buy for 5 years, Lehman electronics for 3 years (til the end), back to best buy for 2 months and then Classic Stereo for 2.5 years.

I left the car install business after Classic and am now employed at a great company called Fort Wayne Metals. I ship medical grade wire. Not the most exciting job, but the people and benefits make it the best job I've had to date.


Damn I still want that Mantis.

chris ehh, i believe you ahve done a couple of my installs:p

had the burgundy kia, and the black turbo regal GS, i stopped up to classic a few times and shot the $hit with you i believe... that is if you drive a suburu;)

hey smitch that mantis needs a acrylic tank. He will bust the glass. I don't know a lot about mantis but I do now that he needs a acrylic tank and his defense mechanism which are like pincher come out at tremendous speeds like as fast as a 22 bullet out of a rifle. They don't call them bone crushers for nothing. That mantis came from uncle bills in indy. I am from Kokomo but in indy a lot and happened to be in Ft Wayne yesterday and that mantis was inpresive. I was disaponted in the other salt water shop on Anthony I can not think of the name of the shop like coral reefer. Oh buy the way I am a member of indmas.org been following you guys for last few weeks. keep up the good work in keeping this hobby alive and afordable to the nedies starting out.

Roundspore, how are the shops in Indy? Besides Uncle Bills and Premium, what else is down there and where is it at? Might have to make a trip down to indy to see some family in a few weeks and just seeing what my options are.

HEhehehehe......thanks Jesse. you have seen my household, I don't need to see them in cages when I can send them to their room.
 
Most of the reading I've done says I should be fine with a glass tank, just put a piece of plexy glass on the bottom of the tank. While there are reports of them breaking tanks, they are few and far between. Yes it could happen, but its not likely.

I've been doing my homework.

Curious if they had a price on the mantis yet? When I was in there the guy said 60.00 but wasnt sure.

Tank looks awesome. Can't wait to see it with a mantis in it. *** for who bought the mantis, that would be trigger1121. He picked it up yesterday I think. Klaus also said he could order one at anytime someone wanted on, and last I heard Petware House had one in, but I don't know what type it is.
