I finally caught this guy! I was getting too impatient for the trap and slightly worried that he'd find another rock, so I pulled the rock and squirted a turkey baster full of club soda in there. Two squirts and he flew outta there.

I am still deciding on whether or not to keep this guy. Is this species hardy enough to be kept in a cheap 5 gallon glass tank with room lighting? I could throw a cheap HOB carbon filter, heater and powerhead in there. Other than food, is there any more to it?

Here are some photos. I got him in a live rock shipment from www.gulf-view.com It's gulf of mexico side Florida aquacultured.

Probably a N. wennerae. Very hardy specie. Would do fine in the tank you mentioned with weekly 10% water changes, or a regular water change schedule at least. I would also add at least a flourescent light. For your pleasure, I mean. These animals are very interesting and you may soon find yourself getting more on purpose ;)

Sigh ... i accidentally bought a cheap 2 gallon all glass tank instead of the 5 that i wanted. I figure the guy is still better in here than in the cup, but i'm worried it's too small for the long run. I don't have a hang-on-back filter yet, and am slightly worried that even the smallest won't fit. There is no lid, but i can easily get a piece of plastic cut out.
