Mantis Newbie Questions

OK I found the source of the "clicking" that I have been hearing for the last few months. It is a Mantis that is very dark (black) with some red on it's face / head. It is only about 1.5 inches. Very striking looking. Any way are they all dangerous to have in a tank with snails, hermits, and a cleaner? Thanks.

It probably is a small Haptosquilla or gonodactylid. These animals grow slowly and at this size it will probably eat only snails and hermit crabs under a half inch. Depending on the species, it may not get any larger or in a couple of years it could grow to 2.5-3 inches and take prey up to 3/4" This does not mean that the animal can't or won't wound larger fish or shrimp, but at this size it is unlikely.
