I just recieved my shipment of rock yesterday and have been hearing a clicking sound. I found a small green pistol shrimp and was wondering if it was possible that it was making the sound that I've been hearing and that there would be no mantis? The pistol is less than an inch, and can you see it move it's claw when it makes the clicking sound because I watched the shrimp and heard the clicking noise and couldn't see him move anything.
Mantis or Pistol?

IMO pistols are much much louder than mantises. I had a pistol come in on a piece of LR-only measured about 3/4" and man was it loud! i thought my heater was making that noise b/c certainly that tiny little thing couldn't be that loud. but sure enough-it was. it eventually grew to almost 2" before i had to take that tank down. pistols are one of my favorites, next to mantises of course.
