Do mantis have one claw larger then the other? I have been hearing the infamous snapping and today i finally saw where it was comming from. I saw i shrimp looking thing that was snapping at a crab that walked by on a rock. So if it was a pistol would it snap at a crab like this? Really couldnt tell what color it was cause i was amazed that i actully saw the little bugger.

I think its safe to say you have a pistol.
You asked if one claw is bigger than the other, and in Pistols this is exactly how they are configured. Mantis done't even have "claws" and they are usually the same size.
It was popping at a crab, just walking by. Again this is what pistols commonly do to get critters to "move on"
If this had been a mantis it wouldn't have been popping at the crab, it would have been on top of it, trying to make it into a Crabby Patty.
