I have a little mantis in my 3gal picotope. Right now its just him and an emerald crab, however, I would like to add some color to the tank

I'm thinking of some nice colored zoa's and maybe some hammers.....will these be alright? Also, what other corals can I keep in the tank? Its 36w PC so I can't keep anything to difficult, just some nice easy corals that wont **** off my mantis, thanks a lot

Plenty of corals are fine with mantises. As long as the coral is well secured so the mantis can't move it. GSP, zoas, palys, xenia, shrooms and quite a few others would be fine.

How big are the mantis and crab? Eventually the crab may succumb to the mantis.

I feed my smithii an emerald crab periodically.

the mantis is not very large, and I feel the emerald is to big for my mantis....here are some pics of him

Mantises don't really pinch as much as wack....and stab....luckily they don't eviscerate very often....I think the only person who has gotten more than a small warning strike would be Dr. Roy, but I could be wrong....

it is either the G. Viridis or the G. falcatus. The picture here here looks like mine so I think its the falcatus
