Mantis safe Glue

I am putting a piece of PVC pipe in for my peacock, I was curious if there is a glue I could put all over the PVC pipe so I could coat it in sand to make it look "more natural" Anyone who has any thoughts or previous experiences I would appericiate your input.

How about aquarium grade silicon? That is about all I can think of that I would trust. Cleaning might be an issue.

I've used Red Coraline Aquastik to hold frags in place and it might work well for that. The color is deceptive though since it's red in the package, but when you knead it to mix the two substances it turns bubblegum pink. You could cover it with sand or even live rock rubble.

The other thought would be to take a piece of live rock and drill a hole in it big enough for your peacock.

My smithii(Marty) lives in a rock that had a hole drilled most of the way through and it subsequently has hollowed it out into a nice home. It made a plug that just fits the hole and pushes it up to close it each night and if I don't turn the lights off soon enough it fills the cracks with sand.

that is a cool idea, for the way I want to aquascape the tank though im running pipe from one pile of rocks to a another closer to the front of the tank so I almost have to use tubing. How do you like your smithii? I just bought one of those and I am getting him next week?

It's been great having him. He pretty much opens his hole each morning and either roams around the tank or sits with his head out of the hole watching me sitting at my desk watching him. If he's hungry and I haven't fed him he'll go invite one of the astreas I keep stocked in there to dinner. I usually try to feed him about once a week either squid or shrimp. Sometimes he takes it into his hole and disapears for a long while, sometimes he takes it somewhere else in the tank to eat and sometimes he just throws it back at me. If he doesn't eat it right away I take it back out but I don't worry about that too much since there is some kind of hitchhiking crab as well as a couple of hermits that only come out at night.

Good luck with yours! Post pictures of the set up when you get it done.

in my agressive tank I used a pvc pipe for my jeweled moray to hide in
I used tuff stuff black spray foam and let it dry for 48 hours and it works just fine

Couldn't you spray the thing with that boat foam people are using to make rear fake rock walls with?
roughly shape it to what you want and before its dry sprinkle sand over the lower ground level portion so it looks like live rock coming out of the sand?
