Mantis shrimp in a video game

The Hardy Mongolian Pony
I was going through some old stuff and found my saga genesis from way back in the olden days. I also found a game that I could never beat as a kid, Biohazard battle. I looked on youtube for a walkthrough and found something interesting.....

LOL funny and I agree they look like spearers in a way :lolspin:

On a similar note...stomatopods are just begging to be "ripped apart" and "totally misunderstood" by hollywood is just a mere matter of time, so so so many movies are out there about a viscious "creature" one of the latest was that "Piranhas" movie.

Albeit most of these movies are just fan flicks targetted at a very specific audience and more often then not, straight to DVD release and not sent to the cinemas either way.........

The stomatopods would make a fine horror/thriller movie, perhaps a scientist is breeding them in a way to make them larger and even more intelligent, then they become to intelligent and brake out of the laboratory to wreak havoc on the world!

I can imagine the "trailer" for the movie, as army soldiers try and defend some bridge that leads to a city as the stomatopods rush forward towards them with the larger smashers (o.scyllarus) clearing the way by smashing through the barricades/tanks etc. while the smaller spearers pick off the low flying helicopters, then as the trailer nears its end a HUGE L.maculata breaches the water below the bridge ripping the entire bridge down into the ocean, then the trailer ends.

Rise of the planet of the Stomatopods!

:lolspin::lolspin::lolspin::lolspin::lolspin::lolspin:

either way....they possess many traits that most film makers need to give to there creatures to make them more fearsome / terrifying whilst the stomatopod already has it all, just laking in size.

It definitely looks like a major design influence was from a mantis shrimp. Even in video games, the mantis shrimp is getting a bad rep :eek:

edit:

Yeah the Japanese love there "creature features", hundreads if not thousands of monster vs monster or monster threatens the world, majority of them if not all of them are quite corny lol.

Hey I heard that if you play a mantis shrimp video game on a glass tv screen it will break the screen is that true? :bounce1::bounce3: :bounce2: :bounce3: :bounce2::bounce1:

I heard it only happens if you try to play it on a small TV about 10 inches or less. It wouldn't hurt if you line your TV with acrylic just to be safe though. :p
