Mantis Shrimp?

In the past two months, I've lost a yellow clown goby, a yellow watchman goby, and now I'm pretty sure my male A. ocellaris is gone too. All have disappeared without a trace. I have a 40 breeder with a reef octopus 125 external skimmer, biopellet reactor, dosing a kalkwasser solution of 2 tsp/5gal as top off, Calc 440ppm, dkh between 10-11, ph around 8.0, NO3 and PO4 both 0. I have several (by several I mean 8) other small reef fish that are eating well, behaving normal and just healthy overall specimens. I figured I just had bad luck with gobies as I also had a diamond that went carpet surfing, but the pair of clowns were my first marine fish, and now I'm ****ed. :mad2:

Do you hear popping sounds? Smashers make loud popping sounds that sometimes can be heard from rooms away when they smack at shells.
Have you lost inverts or CUC? See any shells laying around?

Might want to post this in the Mantis Shrimp Forum. It's below the coral forums.

you're probably right about posting this somewhere else. anyways there is an audible clicking sound... i wouldn't call it faint but it certainly isn't loud. I also have a fairly large serpent star lurking around, could it be the culprit? I've read that they have primitive eyes and can actually ambush fish from above
