Mantle curling

Hey one of my Croceas has a problem. It's beautiful mantle is curling. It started on one end and is now all the way around. I have several other clams and they're fine. Any ideas?

That small rock with the Brown polyps just recently moved there and isnt bothering it BTW.

How long have the clams been togeather and are the others showing any signs of pinched mantle?

Thanx BnG. The clams have been in my tank for 3 weeks maybe? The other Crocea (in the sand also) is fine. I have a larger 7" Derasa and a 2" purple Maxima. They are fine.

looks to be gaping quite a bit too in the second pic? Is it really doing that too? FYI - croceas arent really happy in sand. They have rather large openings on the bottom & might be inhaling sand? I'd suggest getting an empty half-shell underneath it pretty quickly. One of the great things about croceas is that they exude some sort of acidic goo from the byssal area that disolves rocks etc... It'll slowly eat thru the shell, but the beauty is it'll help keep worms & stuff from getting into the clam from underneath, this is all greatly reduced by keeping it in the sand.

Also - might want to check salinity? Sometimes curling of mantle is brought on by SG on the high side. I've seen that clams are way more OK with low SG (as in FW) than high SG for extended periods. Assume all other water parameters are good?
