top is w/ the MH on during the day, bottom is with the lunars on, at night, so there's a difference in how open it is, but notice the exposed rim of the shel in the upper left. will this heal? is this something to worry about?
looks like to me that little guy in the back left made it really mad cleaning in and under the scutes. place a 2 liter that is cut in half over top of it with holes in it and see if that helps then you know that shrimp is driving it nuts. my cleaner shrimp will not leave my clam alone for anything....and after 7 months it will still get mad and look like that if they get near it....
well not really the mantle isn't but a certain part of the clam is attached and can retract pretty good when need be or bothered....I can't really see how the mantle is retracted to be able to tell
