Question- so if I bring an approved rare zoa frag (5-6 polyps required) and I bring one with 20+.....does that count for more??? Or an sps frag that's XL like... 2+''? Sorry if this has already been answeared:rollface:

You actually have to frag it several times so more people can get a piece, just cut the larger frags in smaller pieces :).

How about these Tyree pieces:

Montipora aquituberculata
Flower Petal
Idaho Grape
Neon Green Toadstool

Thanks,

Art

Idaho Grape has become too common lately (saw 6 inch pieces going for $25 recently) but the others are good. On the toadstool please try and bring an entire head (big or small) or a premounted piece if possible.

so it's cool to bring multiples of the same rare frag?

Yes, as I'm sure that more than 1 person would like your rare frag, the more the better. Please bring pieces sized accordingly.

I'm so confused by this 'rare' category. Can you explain it again for me?

If I bring two rares, does that mean I don't need to bring the 3 frag minimum?

If I bring two rares, that gets me one regular pick and a bonus pick?

Or do I need to bring 5 total frags (3 regular and two rares) to get the regular picks and a bonus pick?

Sorry for the confusion Mark but I will try to make it clear:

To enter the frag swap everyone must have 3 frags!

To pick in the bonus round #1, 2 of the 3 frags must be rares/ or one can bring 10 frags.

To pick in the secound bonus round one must have AT LEAST 4 frags and all of them rare/ or 20 corals of which only 10 can be softies**

To pick in the third bonus round one must have AT LEAST 6 frags and all of them rare/ or 30 corals of which only 10 can be softies**

The rares and quantities can be mixed and matched however. I.E. So if one person was to bring 2 rares and 20 common corals they would qualify for all 3 bonus rounds.

**Colorful zoanthids are not considered softies and can be brought in any amount. ( These are nice colorful zoo's which are not rare. Please no ugly browns or putrid Paly's...(To thine won self be true)

The bonus rounds are EXTRA picks. You will still pick in your normal round as well.

If I missed anything please just ask. I'll see you at the swap :)

Great break down! heck I may bring enough for 2 bonus rounds then. I can almost get 20 now, might be able to complete the 20 before then.

I do have a question though....

I assume the picking order will be Bonus, A, B, C, D, Bonus, D, C, B, A, Bonus?

But if you pick in the bonus round, are you unable to pick in the letter round?
They did this in dixion and I think for the most part it worked. I am not sure.
Or do you get your letter pick even if you have bonus round picks?

We are a little lost.....

We are a little lost.....

We would like to know if these are rare?

We have Red Micro (heads open to almost a nickel when opened), Tyree Martian moon War Coral, Aussie Purple green and blue acan lord, and Aussie Prism Favia (not it is not photo shopped I get asked all the time until ppl came up to see the tank) they are a quarter size head. If so how many heads do we have to bring in order to be rare? Thanks

I am good with all of those. I would like a close up of the favia though if possible. Just try and bring 2 heads of the others, and the earlier you frag them the better.

Thanks, Paul. That was very helpful.

I'm considering fragging my hammer and frogspawn. How many heads of each are required to be considered a frag? Thanks again for the help.

For a regular frag, IMO 1 good head or two small ones is fine.

The size of that rock is not big enough IMO to make 30 frags. I have 4 of the same rocks and was going to frag 1 out to like 6-10 pieces. If you are bringing 30, some variation would be much more beneficial.

That rock is actually good size, I could probablly get 20 frags of ten polyps or more.
Shooting for 10 to 12 polyps per frag, but you know how that goes.
I will will get another rock of another zoanthid coloration and do the same thing with it, so I will have 15 frags of each kind, unless I can find two smaller rocks of good looking zoas...

Anyways, just making sure that is what you meant by colorful.
I will get as many diffrent kinds as I can.
