March trials and coral pics

david, i'd like to get that yuma from ya! is it the same one that justin has?

thanks peter :)

karl, now why did you get rid of yours? the thing is like orange lava!

warren, i do have a hot pink yuma and thats what got me hooked to begin with. thanks to xia :D. i have a reddish one otw.

hey you ballers, i'm about to join a 40yr+ flip bball league out in elk grove soon! can't belive i'm getting up there :(

Well, I won a nice sized frag of it at a BAR meeting, and then let my brother-in-law take it home. I guess if I have the room, I'll get a frag back;)

Are you really 40+ already!?! Have fun in the league. Stop by whenever you get the chance.

Tim what size are your Yumas?. THey have really been hard to come by.

BTW Loup hoops down the street at Monterey Trail at 3pm on SUndays and I am going to start hoopin over there once in a while, you guys should come through.

karl, lmk if ur up for playin' on friday mornings.

warren, i'd say about 5 of them are quarter-sized. the rest are pretty small. i bought some at exotic about 2 weeks ago, but sadly...most of them have melted :(. thanks for the open bball invite, i might make it one of these times.

man, i've seen hot pinks ranging from $100-200 for a tiny polyp. add to that shipping and its downright nuts :mad2:.

the one i've got coming is more pink than red but its not a hot pink.

The 'per polyp' pricing on some of these zoas and yumas are incredible. I'm afraid to think what SPS frag prices would do if as many people were into those:eek2:

How is that coming along anyway, Tim? Are you starting to like the yuma and ric thing?

I'll try and make it out for Friday's again. Trying to limit myself to basketball one time a week now because of my ankle:(

Yeah, Justin's and this one are both cuts from my original monster one. It's the last piece that I've got..It was sitting in my fuge for about a year, utill I saw you were getting into them the other week and I remebered about it. So I pulled it out of the fuge where it was about to be choked out by algea and put it into the main tank. It's starting to look well enough to move to a new tank, and I've been able to get it to feed a couple times...so it's all yours now.

no ones really been able to bring them in, thats probably why the prices are crazy. and if they do bring them in, everyones being limited to how many you can buy. yea it is pretty crazy but they are really nice. I might start a collection myself Tim.

Nice corals as alway Tim, yeah those pink yuma are not that cheap, I been down south a couple of time and know of one store that have time in from time to time but the prices just so high that I have to pass, come to think about it I spent much more on sps.

Well, I will start a collections of zoas, ricodia and yuma when the cube is ready.

warren, looks like you got most of the yumas from teelapia coming ;). lmk how they look.

karl, these yuma are just something to keep me going. but now that the weather is gettin nice, the tank takes a backseat for awhile :).

david, since i've already got a frag of your guy, please keep it or use it as a trade to get some variety for us :)? although its a pretty orange, you know i ain't greedy like that ;).

anthony, if you run across any nice ones at a reasonable price don't hesitate to call :D

herman, looks like i picked the wrong time to get into yumas :(. crazy prices and limited supply.

after I told him how difficult it was to get a hold of specific colored yumas, he decided not to sell any and kept his. I think the yumas he has are smaller.

warren, my bad. i thought you had dibs on half of his stuff. either way, i'd love to see some pics of teelapia's pinks and reds!

Exotic had a peachy pink one for $110. Hurry and go buy it Tim. I wonder if it'll color up more.

I have had one for some time and it finally split a little baby about the size of a dollar coin, and I was going to sell that one I had, but after I found out how hard they were to come by I decided to keep mines.

I can't believe how expensive yumas are now

I thought they were pricey 4 years ago, when Aquatic Gallery had pinks and reds for $35 a polyp

Is there are reason why they're so rare now? Hopefully, Gresham will chime in.

they really are hard to come by Karl, $35 might get you the run in the mill green yuma at that price WHOLESALE.

From what I have heard and from friends that work in the wholesale industry is that they are just hard to come by, and if they do get them they are limited to how many they can sell to their customers. Thats probably why the price is where its at. But they look nice.

I don't get the extemely high prices either...esspecially once you know how easy it to turn one poylp into six. Have you taken a razor blade to any of them yet? Slice them like a pizza and place them in a bowl with some netting over it and some rubble in the bottom...I swear every little piece of ric will start to regenerate and in no time you will have a ton of them. The tissue can regenerate from the smallest piece...when I was trying to get rid of them I had to go back to the rock I was cutting them off of a couple times. Every time I though I got it all, I would find a new one poppin up because I missed some of the base, and little pieces that went flying off in the current would eventually settle out and start growing again..
