Marco Rocks vs. Eco Rox

I am about to order some base rock and have narrowed it down to the two above. Which of the above is better? Or is it 6 of one, half-a-dozen of the other?

The big difference that I am aware of is Marco Rocks need to be cured and Eco Rox can be placed into an established tank. This info came direct from the vendors.

I used reefer rocks and their rock was incredible...I got their best stuff and it was exactly what I was looking for.

good luck

I have gotten Marco rock twice now, and there is nothing Base about it. Once you Cure and Seed it, it is show quality fiji rock.

okay okay marco rock it is. i have a 117 gallon cube tank 36x36x21 and i really want to leave room open so i dont want to fill the tank up with just rock. how many lbs should i get? 25 ? 50? i heard that its about half the weight of reg live rock. so what do you guys recommend????

i got 75 lb marco for my 120 (4x2x2) and i think it is going to be a little too much for the open aquascaping i want. But its all good the rest will just get tossed in the fuge/ turned into rubble for corals. I would definitly recomend doing the same but instead of the 25 and 50 boxes get the 50 lb of regular and the 15 or 25 or flat plate stuff (the name just slipped my mind) you could probably make a sweet aquaspacing with that.

I got marco rock too. it was awsome. heres what i got. this is the 50 lb box. i was switching from a 50 gal to a 90 gal, so i already had 50 pounds of good rock.

it does need to cycle!! i put it in the 90 gal with about 20 lbs of my seeded rock and waited 5 weeks.

as you can see they are very light weight, the 50 lbs filled my 90 gal nicely! i had to squeeze in my other 50 lbs

I chose Marco rock too! I ordered about 50 pounds of pre-cured LRock and around 120 pounds of Marco Rock. I am trying to find room to fit all the rock! My new system is 265g. Marco Rock is simply awesome. I prefer the Fiji Styled Marco Rock.

Hi , This is Ryan from Two Part.

I just wanted clarify the statement made above. Curing really has a different meaning to everyone . For one person it means soaking it for a week in room temperature freshwater, for another it means three months with heated salt water with food/light and for another it means soaking it in acid. Everyone has different beliefs on the benefits of all these methods.

I would recommend that with any dry rock (including ours) you should at least soak it in freshwater overnight to get the dirt and dust off, after that it is really up to you.

If anyone has any questions specifically about our rock please ask them in our forum as i can not respond in the open forms. I just wanted to address this statement.
