I cant thank you and Tom enough for letting me take some pics of your sumps and picking Toms brain about my plumbing problems. I filled the sump sunday afternoon and it works like a champ. Its a night and day difference from before. Thanks again.

Oh man it was a night and day difference without that check valve. I think the check valve was restricking the water flow at least 50 %. Are you the guy that was in painting with Tom.

I have a question for ya. It seems to me that my overflows arent keeping up with my pump noe. Well they are but the my display tank level is really high. I have 2 osof the CPR Overflows and I cant lower them any more in the tank. So I dont know how to lower the level. What size over flows do you have. Mine have a 1 1/2 bulk head in the overflow.

I have 2 1" drains on my tank. However, I'm only using one, but at a full siphon. The other is just an emergency drain.

If you have one 1 1/2" bulkhead, I would think that would be okay. I'm not too familiar with hang on overflows though. If you are worried about it, I would give Tom a call and see what he can think of. They use them on their grow out tanks, so I'm sure he has some ideas.

Well if your only really using 1 drain then I shouldnt have a problem then, cause your moving 2 times the amount of water I am. My tank isnt over flowing but another 5 gals and it would.

I had a similar problem I just put on another J tube , you could also try to restrict a little flow on the pump.

Agreed. My one drain is pumping some water out. But again, keep in mind it's at a full siphon. Meaning it's underneath the water by about 5-6" with no air being introduced. That makes a huge difference. But like you stated, I'm pushing a considerable amount of water threw it...

If I had 5 more gallons, my water would be all over the floor too! :)

my water level is still high but with 2 j tubes on there 1 at full flow and 1 at half flow I feel safe, but I must agree with you Tom is amazing oh what would orlando do without his expertise. Think I talked to him 3 or 4 times this last week getting my stuff sorted out, it sure is nice living about 10 min. away from SITC

Ok I feel a lot better now. I was stressing a lot. lol Other then that its working great. I love the pump now. lol It would be nice though if I could get some movement behind the rocks and what not. But im happy for now. Thanks again for your advise the other day.

One thing you might consider is plumbing in two more returns off your manifold and instead of using 3/4" locline, use 1/2" and point them towards the back of the tank behind the rocks. I think if you went with 3/4" you would lose some of the flow your so excited about having back. :) But reducing to 1/2" for those two runs would be fine.

I had 2 set up before but I wasnt getting near enough water flow, so I cut them and capped them off. Oh well. For now Im going to leave it alone and see how it does. Everything seems to be working perfect.
