Mariculture

In the need to add some coral to a larger reef I have purchased a handful of mariculture frags. In the last week almost all have rtn. Rest of coral (normal frags) seem fine and are growing. I have been told mariculture frags typically have a high death rate long term. Curious what everyone thinks?

That's generally the case with mariculture. It's can definitely be hit and miss.

You have to be a black-belt reefer to keep maricultured stuff. Lol jk but they are difficult to keep alive compared to the stuff that's used to the reef tank. Parameters need to be stable, par around 250-300, feeding the tank also helps a ton, aminos, and benepets seem to help some. If you bottom out your po4 you usually get a quick Rtn. Low No3 is also an issue.
