Maricultured acros anyone?

I am thinking of ordering a few maricultured acroporas from Divers Den on Live Aquaria. They run about $80-$90 each, but they are nice sized, some are about 6". I was thinking of getting a few people together that want to try it and get some colonies and frag them up so we all get some different stuff. Let me know if anyone is interested, that way I can pick up a few different and vibrant colored things that we all can share.

Well, nix that thought. I just saw a 7" long Strawberry Shortcake Acro pop up on Divers Den and I jumped and bought it. It wasn't cheap.....ouch. But I figure I can make my money back easy by selling some frags. With that being said, who needs Strawberry Shortcake Acro frags? lol

I saw the price tag on that one, OUCH, said your wallet!lol

It looks awesome though, put pics up once it comes in!

just got a few chalices and a super blue tenuis acro from divers den in today! Never have tried the mariculture scared of aefw. But I do agree I have never had any probs from live aquaria. That coral looks really nice!

Well, good news or bad news for me. Not sure how I see it yet. I called and cancelled the Strawberry Shortcake order. After thinking about it, I was just too concerned about keeping a wild caught SPS alive. Even with the 14 day guarantee, a wild SPS could bite the bullet at any time. This one wasnt even maricultured, it was just wild. For the high price it cost, I just didn't want the headache of trying to keep it alive and frag it too, just to make some money back to pay for it. Guess I'll have to keep searching for a frag of this coral that I have been wanting for some time. An aquacultured frag that is a couple of inches would give me more peace of mind.... :)
