marine magic dosing pump review

Thanks for the info, i will try it when i have time.
BTw, you mentioned you use the pump to dose limewater as well. how much you dose every day? should we use this pump for kalk? it has to work a long time to dose enough limewater which will shorten the pump lifespan.

I have my triple doser (new digital) one sitting on my bar top (temporaraly) which is about 4+' off the floor drawing from buckets on floor with 6' of tubing to and 6' of tubing from doser with no problems at all. Once I permanately mount the doser, I will shorten the draw/feed lines. Only thing is that it takes a bit of time to 'prime' the lines. I am using 2 pumps alternating ever hour (and every half hour during middle/end of 'lights off' photo period) to dose limewater.

about 1-1.3gal a day
I am now using 2 pumps running on speed 3 working off 2 buckets of limewater to split the time.

I had one pump stop working after running on speed 4 at only 8 min every other hour the first weekend and the tubing turned black/stretched out. I changed out with one of my spare pumps and I have since added some lube in the wheels/tube chamber (Taylor Lube - used for ice cream & slushy machines and it is non-toxic/food grade). I am doing this as an experiment and actually am in talks with the engineer/owner whom designs these so he can test with this also. So far I have found that the pumps run much more quietly and the dosing volume per speed is unchanged. It has been a week since lubing the wheels in the pump assembly so the jury is still out, but I have very hopeful.

Actually, I also had an issue with the tube connectors. One of them cracked when I installed into the tubing. I send a note to the vendor and he send he would send me some more.

Just wanted all to know that the vendor did send extra connectors as promised free of charge. So far Customer service is an A+.

Just ordered the unit. Estimated delivery time is aug 22 to sep 2 is that right? That awfully long for shipping.

I had similiar lead times when I order a few weeks back. I think it has to do with how Ebay items are posted. I acutally received my pump within 9 days of placing the order.

Anyone having the Alk line crust up at the end of the air tube?
And if possible can you guys post some pics of you system thanks

I do not have this unit but use a BM Tmo1 and a TMo2 . It is normal for the alk to cake up . If you ever bought any two part and looked at the screw cap for the alk it gets the same crusty stuff on the cap . I use a BM tube holder but keep it in easy view . I rinse the tubes on warm water fromm time to time .
I have not noticed any issues with the alk crusting as much after changing the tubing to Deep Blue silicone tubing . That tubing is worthwhile since it does not kink and remains very pliable. You don't have to fight with it to get it on the connectors .

A bud is ordering his today . Nice to see that they changed the the 3 timers into a all one in timer on top .

Well it wasn't easy, but I ditched the hose connectors it came with and picked up three regular air line couplers. I used the three check valves provided and the three new airline couplers instead. Even though the tubing on the motors is smaller, with a little effort and frustration you can get them to expand over a regular size airline coupler. Now I have no leaks and am happy with the unit... for now. As long as it stays accurate and doesn't leak, I think it was a steal!

Could you post a pic and item link for the specific connectors you used please? A couple of my plastic connectors broke, and I am keen to use airline as well. Not sure which connector to get though.

oh and by the way, I have it mounted vertically and it is working fine :)

PLEASE stay away from this company.. i have had mine 3 weeks and it is broken. they are making me take it apart and try and figure out what is going on. this is all foriegn to me and it is such a run around. they wont replace it and only will send replacement part to me. it take 9 weeks to get anything and at this point its not even worth it. it will be 20 weeks before i can ship back and hopefully get a new one.

I'm sorry you are having these issues, but most have reported that the customer service has been excellent, as well as the build quality. I have only had my pump online for a bit over a month, but it has been flawless for me.

any product has the flaw rate, especially, the starting up company like marine magic. As long as they are showing a supportive attitude, I give them A+. if you want have a slightly lower chance to buy a malfunctioning dosing pump, you probably have to pay triple the price.

Got my Magic dosser and set it up today,Set mine to S-4 (10secs ) so far its accurate and makes 5ml .<br>

Just saw this now. I don't have a link or pic of the connectors, but they are just your average airline connector. Clear. I think they are sold with little white airstones. One end connects to the airstone and the other to the line normally, but I just used the end that connects to the line to connect to the smaller pump line, and the other end that normally goes in the airstone to connect to the airline tubing to the tank.

Thanks for this thread. Looking forward to reading it, looking for a reliable dosing system. And since the thread starter has such excellent taste in NFL teams, this will move to the top of the list. :)
