Marineland 92 Build

So I thought I'd try one of these build thread since I have had a few inquires on my new setup. To start off I recently moved from Miami to Austin where I had a small SPS setup for about 7 years, now that I'm all settled in I figured it was time to setup something new. So being new to Austin we decided to rent for a while, we found a large townhouse which was great . The only problem is that the main living area is on the second floor. Wanting something large with deep dimensions I opt for the 92G (30" x 30" x 24") but really 28.5" x 28.5" x 24". So now how do I get a large sump under the tank? Well I started with a 20G high and ran with that for a few months. It became too difficult changing the skimmer cup and doing various other task under the tank, the inside height is only like 25". So just a few weeks ago I used my old 40 breeder and put it up next to the tank in IKEA cabinet.
The setup has be running now for about 5 months. Its lightly stocked with a few fish and GSP.
I started with BRS dry Pukani rock and live sand. The tank cycled for almost 3 months and I'm just starting to see coralline algae. I'm anxious to start putting some frags in but I'm trying to take it slow.

Tank: Marineland 92G RR
Lighting: Vertex Illumina 260 12"
Flow: 2 x Ecotech Marine MP40W
Skimmer: Vertex Alpha 170
Sump: 40 Breeder w/ Refugium and 10W 6K LED Flood (on 24/7)
Return pump: Eheim 1262
Kalk Reactor: MRC Small Nilson
Controller: Apex
GFO/Carbon: BRS Dual Reactor
Dosing pump: GHL Stand-alone Dosing Unit - 3 Pump (arriving Monday)
Chiller: JBJ 1/10HP
Heater: JBJ 300Watt

Also I'm using ESV Salt and will start dosing BRS recipe 1.

I'm new to LED and still a little skeptical using only a 12" fixture, but I made to rock work for it. Time will tell.

how is that LED spot light in your fuge working out? I was thinking of getting the same one.

I like the look of the tank. I am setting up a Marineland 25g cube. I am debating between the maxspect p or the vertex 12".

Does the vertex simulate sun rise and sunset?

I will follow your progress.

Awesome for $30 also bought some of the - PAR38 CFL - 85 W- 5100K Full Spectrum as a backup but the LED is rockin.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

Just a little update. I took the Cannons down and went back to the Illumina. The wife hated the look of the Cannons and the light breed was killing me. Wow what a difference, I'm regretting it. The Illumina is no where as intense. I'm worried about the SPS now. I was getting growth and the SPS were retaining their color with the cannons. I think they would of worked out if I had one more blue cannon and a 20" tall canopy. I'm considering trying AI Sol Blues 2-4 of them and maybe a new Vega in the middle. What do y'all think?

Looks good. I almost bought the same tank, I'm wishing I had. I've heard a lot of good things about the radions, you might want to look into them too. I would suggest isolating that gsp rock before it covers your whole scape. Months later I'm still chasing some that got out of hand.

Thanks. I love gsp. I'd do an entire tank if I could, I'll keep it under control. I fear that the radions won't be much of an upgrade over the illumina. I like the AI because of the optics, I can run them up high getting good coverage while maintaining intensity.

Great rock work! Perhaps 2 Ai Sol's and 1 Radion? Should give you plenty of intensity and spread plus the added red and green colors...
