Marineland DD Cabinets - Anyone using one?

Anyone actually using their Marineland Deep Dimension cabinet? I'm finding mine to be too short for pretty much everything I want to do.

Can't seem to get a sump/fuge/skimmer combo I want to work in that space. (200 gallon DD)

Anyone on here actually have those items under their factory cabinet? And if so, any pics?

Drs. foster and smith shows the marine land sump, and marine land skimmer under the cabinent. No experience with either, just a thought?

I have the DD 300 gallon and purchased the stand. The marineland sump and skimmer is not efficient or worth the money if you plan on stocking what a 300gallon can hold. I had the same issue you were having with regards to getting everything under the stand. I suggest if it is possible for you that you plumb to a basement or another room and setup a stand to hold fuge, sump, skimmer, etc. Thats what I did and boy does it make a huge difference. Is your tank established and setup already? If not, then I would build a new stand to the specs you need it.

Good luck.

I have the Marineland Model 4 sump, and it fits, but I'm looking for a higher end skimmer and a sump/refugium combo which gets more difficult because they aren't custom sized.

I don't have a convienient way to plumb this to the basement as it would be 24 feet away and up a floor. I'm thinking that would take a pretty massive pump to span that distance.

My tank isn't setup yet, but I'm not exactly handy with woodworking and probably wouldn't be able to fit a larger stand through the door if I didn't assemble it in the room.

I was hoping someone on here was actually using this stand with gear under it other than the Marineland stuff.

There is a lot of room you need to think out side the box and get crafty! These are some pics of my 300 DD with the stand. I am using a sump that is 48x17x17, my skimmer is external hid by a plant. Hope they help.

Quick Fix

Quick Fix

Do what i recently did. Make a box using 2x12's the same size as thottom of the tank and brace really well. After that cut a hole in the bottom of the stand big enough to house your sump. I currently in the process of getting my Euro-Reef CS12-2 into my sump.

Only reason I even have the Marine Land Cabinet is cause my wife bought the complete setup for me as a gift.:fun2:

Hope you can picture what i described above.

I have also bough the 300 DD tank and stand combo.. I have ordered a custom 66x17x14 sump with fuge and fits very well under tank.. there is a guy in calif I ordered it from and he did a great job... Think he sells some stuff on e-bay search sump on there.. Should come up . I have also bought a ATB cone 1050 skimmer which is only 22 inches tall and will also fit under the stand.. I"m not sure what else you want to fit but I bet you can make it happen.... Good luck PM me for info on builder ....

I can picture what you're saying, that's a solution I hadn't thought of yet. Thanks!

Only reason I ended up with the cabinet is because I found the whole thing on Craigslist for a smokin deal!
