Marineland reef LED

U mean to first turn on the actinics then the whites in stages? I doubt u can do that since the fixture uses one switch for both sets of leds.

+1 to HYbridazn - there is only one power plug- so while the unit can probably be controlled to turn on/off by a controller vie controlling the power on or off to the plug - the different light options/effects cannot be controlled.

I meant just on/off as my lunar will be supplemented via stunners. I'm stuck cuz I would like to save on electric but at the same time I want something I can manage when I go on vacation for a week next March. I'm between the Aquaticlife T5 fixtures (4 bulb fixture with lunar) or the Marineland reef LED. I just don't know what to go with.

Well your in Wexford - even the most automated system should get looked into daily- in case something happens = fish dies, power outages, etc. My office is in Wexford, and I could swing by at lunch time to take a quick look if you out of town. Cloaker looked in on my tank when I went out of town and good thing- saved 1/2 of the tank after a power outage.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. Also would the LED's be enough for LPS and softies? I'm a little hesitant as i'm not sure if the light output would be enough. Thanks!

Looks like the 48 inch fixture will be enough par to grow anything, SPS toward the top and softies/LPS deeper. Probably should ask one of our lighting guru's though- I still use VHO's so not up on the LED stuff. You should be able to find a lumen to PAR chart to figure out a conversion of watts /lumen, and PAR these actually put out. Also- With my 90 I used only 4 X 110 watt VHO's only and had SPS and softies all growing. Adam did/does the same thing. So, it is possible this fixture will allow you to grow anything you want.

interesting- Did I will something or are they maxed at 24 inches long? So are you going to put 2 together in line with each other to go 48 inches? Then have one 48 inch 12K strip and one 48 inch blue strip to cover the 90 gallon tank? So, a total of 4 (24 inch) fixtures?

Well the marine fusion strip is 48" long and so is the 12k sun white. So I would probably just use a mix of those only or use to supplement a T5 fixture. I'm not sure completely yet.
