Mark's 180 Starfire upgrade

ok, let me try this again. It's now been 3 weeks. How come my tank doesn't look like yours yet? :crazy1:

Because you have those awesome T5's :hmm5::crazy1::hmm5:

Just kidding Terry ;) I'm just lucky enough to have some good looking subjects :love1:

Thank You Tahir. I remember having this conversation once before :D

Let me ask a friend of mine who lives in England about the joculator and get back to you ;) They aren't cheap here in the states either, but thats a lot of quid :eek1:

18 years...Wow!!! That means you got to see the end of Rush's career, Barnes, Owen and my favorite reds of all time, Robbie Fowler

I thought we did . That would be great, I be more than happy to see what your friend could do for me as I always wanted this beautiful rare fish.
Yes, my dad bought me my first season ticket on my 21st birthday and before that we always went on family season ticket. I have never let my membership cancelled and I have seen most famous victories and glorious moments. I have already placed a bet of £100 for Liverpool to win the premiership as I got very good odds....my future tank build could do with good £10000 win :celeb3:

Here is one that I don't see very often, but its quite different

I want to :love1: this lovely stuff.... Man :worried: why can't we get something like this in the UK?

If you don't mind, could I have a look at your sump please?

I think your tank is one of the best on Reef Central and I have heard that you have a wealth of knowledge in this hobby. Great job on TOTM, it was well deserved. Could you review my post and add any suggestions or comments to help me start me large reef system? Thank you in advance. - Aaron

Thanks Aaron. Feel free to pm me if you have any direct questions. I looked at your google sketches and it looks like you are off to a good start

Mark how is that regal that you recently added doing? Do you dose kalkwasser?

No kalk dosing. My PH has always remained stable and high enough until the last couple of months.

I removed the regal and its waiting for a friend to pick it up sometime as it developed a taste for chalices and I have a new fish that I will be picking up at BAYMAC in May

Thanks Mark..... Lovely stuff there sir. Could you tell me how would you rate your ATb skimmer against Deltech AP902? Also just wondering if your Vortech controller units would be safe enough on sump cab doors since you get lots of humidity rising from your sump area? I am sure you know what you are doing, its just that I have 2 x MP40s and would like to keep the controller units hidden or mount them the way you have done so.
Thank you for taking your time and effort to put up with my requests, I guess one Liverpool fan to another Liverpool fan is like talking to blood related relation lol.

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.....Man....please please stop hurting my Credit Card as I am seriously thinking about getting something like this from Germany. I did see some of these chaetodontoplus septentrionalis in Germany and guy is a private seller who actually charge 2 Euro per mm square.....I love every single coral of yours and wish that I lived closer to you....lol

If anyone knows that I could get something like this from with in the UK please shoot me a PM. I would highly regard your kind help......

Thank you Mark for sharing such a wonderful collection of wild salty water garden.

I'm a scouser for life :D

I have had these two units in the same place for over two years. One of them was on my 90 gallon previously and they are both fine. The back of my stand is open I have a small fan down there as well.

As for the comparison between the ATB and deltec, I have never owned a Deltec so it would not be an unbiased comparison. All I can say is that there are a lot better pumps on the market that what we had a few years back. The airstar pump is quiet, cool and does its job  I was looking at one of the new deltec's when I added the ATB. Its was between those two when I was upgrading skimmers ;)

Thank you Mark for getting back. I was getting lots of humidity issues in my sump area too and since then I have installed small PC fans which are connected to my humidity/set controller. I have placed 4 x 120mm fans on each end of the sump cabinet (8 in total), one end blows the fresh in and other side take the warm and humid air out. I am still getting some salt creep on pipework and was wondering if it could also creep up to the Vortech driver controllers. I guess I will take the risk and place them the way have you have done.

I do like the new Deltech and may sell my current AP902 and go for the Deltec SC 2560 internal...Does anyone suggest otherwise?
