Mark's 180 Starfire upgrade

Strawberry-1.jpg

Mark, I know that one. Gorgeous picture, made my wall paper, LOL. God I love that one. I am getting it at BayMac so I am excited to be getting it back. It is a stunner, just different enough from the other Watermelon varieties that it made my short list ;). In my old colony that slice of blue went from the edge straight into the center...it is my avatar over at R2R...I love the blue striations, it keeps a really nice pattern with the blue and pink and the texture of the coral as it grows out as well. Super Sweet chalice. Frankly, overlooked in my opinion...but I like it that way, heheheh.

Thanks Alicia. The Strawberry watermelon is one of my favorites in my collection. Thanks for the text yesterday. Hopefully you had a good time. Shoot me a PM or text a couple days before BAYMAC as I have a frag of your red fusion healing for you

is it the one from IanI?

Mark, I'll be checking in with you before the day :). I didn't go on any fun fishy trips this weekend :(...that was for Paul. He may have made his way there, not sure. I spent the weekend building some more fencing to keep our sad dog in instead of breaking out to search for her buddy. She is very lonely since we had to put Tess down. I know she will adjust and eventually we will get her a new playmate. I think we have the whole back yard/fence impenetrable. But for the time being she will stay in the house while we are at work until she really settles down. She spent Monday and Tuesday of this last week roaming the neighborhood and trying to break back into our yard after she jumped the fence. Poor thing was chased by animal control for a day and half until they finally figured out where she lived and called me. What a nightmare that was. She evaded arrest for a day and half but they were getting ready to tranquilize her. Jeeeeez, she is really mourning the loss of her packmate.

Lighting in canopy

You've got plent of room at the front and back of the VHO's to install a couple of reef brights, and it may be possible to mount them between the halides as well if you use the 15"ers, though you'd have to move the moonlights. Just not sure if the VHO's would have to be pushed a little further apart or not. If you mount outside of the VHO's, you can angle the reef brights like I did using their mount, so you wouldn't lose much from the eurobracing.

Yep, its just the final decision to do it. I was thinking of the 15" between the reflectors or two 30" ones in the back angled towoard the tank. Either way, its going to take me to get one of each (at least) and get you over for a day to help with the design and install  Let me know if you are around this weekend to get a last look at my canooy before I place the order ;)

Dang Mark that is one packed canopy. I bet your electric meter spins like a 78 record when they're all on :crazy1: (Don't really know how fast it spins relative to CDs but I thought that I would date myself.)

Nope, Mark's got cheap electricity up in SAC. We already went over this :wavehand:

They are all only on for 2.5 hours a day ;)

Yep, $300-$350 a month, don't forget that I have 3 250's and two more vho's on my shallow tank ;)

It would be interesting to compare the kilowatt tier charges for Sactown (what utility co?), PG&E and SCE.

Hey Dan, up here we have PG&E and SMUD. Thank you for keeping our rates lower as SMUD also has water energy sources ;)

I'm running about $350 a month on T5's, no chiller, no nothing, barely ever home, and walk around in the dark when I am home :wildone:

But I don't turn on all the lights throughout the house, and we use compact flourescents, and I don't use A/C during the summer. :uzi: PG&E, except for my uncle who works there :D

That's one of the many benefits of living in an overpopulated area; oh yeah, don't forget about the traffic
