Mark's 180 Starfire upgrade

Nice Mark! How the regal and zeo doing?

Thanks Brian. The regal is doing well and the ZEOvit, for the most part, is also going well. I'm still taking it very slow, but the daily dosing and weekly water changes are not a big deal for me. The water is clearer than before and my nitrates tested at 5ppm last week. My PL colony is basically the only coral in the tank that is not in its prime. I'm leaning more towards the addition of the regal more than the ZEO

Thanks Ryan. I agree that what the Cquarium is colored up right, the mixrure of colors are stunning. The problem is that too many people can not keep it colored up as teh colony gets larger.
That is one of the pieces that I wanted to get from John (YR) last year at CFM but he didn't have any avilable. Mark (or Ryan) do you guys have (or have seen) his Yellow Stinger? I might ask John to bring one down for me if it it looks nice.

Nope, I have the ATL yellowjacket surashoni and I know Ryan has a frag of it as well ;) They are basically the same thing and a great coral to boot ;)

I dont have it either, but thanks to mark I have the YellowJacket.

Actually, speaking of the YellowJacket, the wife and I were sitting on the couch in the Fish room the other night watching the tank during feeding time and I asked her which coral was the "Brightest" in the tank...

Her answer was clearly the YellowJacket! Maybe that is because it is right up front and in the middle, but it is a wicked coral. It has encrusted nicely and sprouted up a bunch of starter branches ( just liek the Palettas Pink Tip) but just hasn't started growing them just yet...

Anyway sorry for the ramble... :lol2:

Ryan, where are you from? That Deltec is a great deal! Hope you picked it up.

Hi Maximus.

Im in Merced. I really wanted that 1004 but someone got it before I did! I have a Deltec 902 now and I love it. I've been on the lookout for a 1003 or 1004 for a long time now!

If you guys were coming down Reefaplooza is a better show (IMHO). I think that Mystery wrasses are still one of the most colorful fishes out there

Great Shot Mark.

How doyou get such a wide area to be in focus? If i could focus more than one coral on a fts, They would turn out much better!!!

I'm not sure exactly what lens I shot this with, but a higher number on my f/stop usually helps. FTS' are tricky because the edges are the first to lose detail :(

yeah, I guess I need to just play with it some more!!! Damn, i thought you would have a secret for me! :lol2:

But then it wouldn't be my secret anymore :hmm2:

But really, just a lot of shooting and keep at it. I am so much the amateur so my advice is more my experiences and not really what works for everyone else since I really can't explain it :(
