Terry, I am getting the a200-1260. I am thinking of modding the feed so I can hard plumb in a 1" schedule 80 union. :)

The skimmer I have is a great skimmer, but I have to run a filter sock. If I don't, every once and awhile I get a surge in my drainpipe and it can knock the head down. :(

I was debating it when I bought this skimmer. I looked at ATB and BK's, but all of my research let me back to the original german skimmer. Yes, H&S was around before deltec was.

do you know if H&S is releasing anything new at Interzoo? Maybe you should see what's coming out before you order? Interzoo is only a couple days away

Mark -- I am wondering......Do you think you can mod your 200-1260 to run it external? (Instead of dropping the dime for new)

PS.....Went to a couple of local lumber shops doing planning for the tank........I think I may actually go with Maple instead of oak or mohogany. They had some really nice types and the stain options were awesome. I have had to push back my start date as we had some issues in landing the house we wanted....I planning on still moving ahead though....

Terry, I have been talking to a couple of the speakers and they are going to keep an eye out for me. I probably won't do it until I get my tax return money back. I really don't thing that I will be finding a better deal that the one I was offered ;)

I thought about it, but after the headache of drilling for the recir mod and the feed, I dedided to sell my current one. There is a reason the other one is amost 6 inches taller.

I am sorry to hear that you are have to push back the date. Good luck in securing your new home. It tough; as I am in the lending industry.

BTW, welcome to my tank thread :D

things are looking great man. TOTM ;)

Sure, in about 2011. Wait, I don't have a fish room and all the other reqired euipment. :p

Ha!!! Yeah, i figured you were getting sick of me pm-ing you :) The tank is looking awesome by the way!!

The house thing kinda of sucked....someone came in at the last minute with a contract offering more money. We werent willing to go that high. Nice part is a house in the same neighborhood just came available....housing mark is a little crazy in DC.

The best part though is with the push back in the date.....it allows me to save more money....AKA...custom tank!!!!

Any shots of your tangs? I remember reading you were going with the dussumier and spot face....didnt know if they came in or not. I am looking at getting a Bariene for my new set up......

Mark - sounds like you have a great deal!
BigIan - Interzoo is like a yearly conference where companies show off their new stuff. sortof like a car show.

Actually, H&S will custom build them to whatever height you request. Fliger had one built to 24" tall. Just like my ER RC180 and the Deltec 701.

But Modding a skimmer can be a big PITA. Especially the H&S. The production RC models use PVC welded unions to hold the pumps on. If you were to DIY, you would have to use uniseals, and you wouldn't have the nice support braces around the body :)

That is how felt Jim. I might as well just get the one I want. I could always just make up a couple frag packs to make up the difference :)

After measuring last night, I will have an extra 4-5 inches of clearance so I should be good to go. The only decision I am think about is if I want the get the two pump model :D
