you going to put in that regal?

If I can find the right one :)

I got bored tonight as I was playing around in the garage, so I decided to replace my back right modded nano with a 6100 that I have had laying around. The problem is, I got rid of my streams for some 6055's and some vortechs. I can not wait for the new tunze's to come out.

Those new Tunze's do seem pretty darn nice.

They sure do, too bad their not ready yet!

I know, It will be a matter of you has their product on the market first; tunze or vortechs gen 2.

Yeah. Only 2 real problems with VT.
1. Pump is on outside(this is good and bad). If you run a very quiet system, you can hear the pump ramping up and down, and you get to look at the cord outside the tank.
2. You cannot angle the output. It's straight only, and if you do want to change it's position, you have to move both sides and realign.

The problems with the current Tunze's are that you could only direct flow side to side, and not up and down, and they are rather large and obtrusive in the tank. The new ones still will not be small, but smaller, and you can actually angle them any way you like.

I'll have time to play with the VT's and decide later if I'd rather have the Tunze's.:D

All that is true, but there is also a 50% wider flow in the VT. I am really curious to what they are doing to the motor. I know they are reworking them and they are supposed to adding a few more modes that many of the flow gurus are very happy about.

I still like the idea of a combination of different flow and wave devices.

I forgot about the wider flow aspect, which I like. I didn't hear about motor changes, just wet side and programming. As for other models, the only one I know of is the MP20, and vague comments along the lines of "we are always working on new ideas for the future". I've got 2 VT's now, so I'll play with those and go from there.

As for combination of diff flow and wave devices, I couldn't agree more. Maybe you could tell by the dual CL, system return semi gyre, dual VT's and Wavebox!:D

Yep, Roger is the man. I have never had to deal with ecotech's cs as mine work just fine.

How is VT's customer service? I know Tunze/Roger is the best of the best.

Been great for me so far. As good as I've found anywhere else, including Tunze's CS.

Jeremy - do you have Tunzes? Have you used both companies CS?

I've only got 1 6100 and 1 wavebox at the moment, but I've had as many as 4 6100's, 1 wb, 1 7095, 1 7094, 3 single controllers, and a 9002 skimmer at one time. So, yeah, I've had to deal with Tunze's CS, and they were very helpful and turned things around pretty quickly.

With Ecotech, I've had 3 MP40's. 2 of which were originally MP40's, and 1 an MP40W. Swapped out drivers, and had to replace 2 wet ends, and send a used pump I bought that wouldn't run smoothly. Also had 2 battery backups, 1 of which got fried when I tried to plug it in with version 1 of the connector plugs. They were also very helpful and turned things around quickly.

lol, that will never happen until they make 5000gph PH's. They're taking the right step with the new VT's coming out - something about re-doing the wetside so they don't rust anymore.

So when the new designed Tunze Stream IIs come out, are you going to give me a deal on those 6101s? =) You must upgrade, everyones doing it.

I can see why people would not want to switch over to vt's with the current issues, but they have listened and I am excited. I think a couple of the new 6101's and a couple of the new mp20's, my tank might have enough flow when it grows up :)

When that time comes, I will have a 6100 for cheap. I also have a 7094 in the garage just sitting around.
