I got bored today so I went and visited a couple reefers. On the way home I stopped by a LFS to check on a blonde naso. I ended up caming home with an achilles tang :strange: This will be my last attempt. I am doing a quick acclimation and since I have no tangs in my display, It will be in there tonight.

I made a special recipe of food last weekend and I picked up some Kent Zoe. A friend Joe recommended it so I will give it a go. The LFS had 6 achilles to choose from. Three came in about 2 weeks ago and three came in yesterday. All six were eating so I chose one from the batch from two weeks ago. The sad thing is that as I was watching these beautiful fish, I came to the realization that maybe one of them will live more than a year.
I am praying that it is mine. :)

Sweet :D

The achilles must of liked something is the food mix. He is swimming aroung and eating already

:fish1:

Jim and I were watching the Achilles on friday. one of them jim really liked:)

I think its a matter of time before the Sohal gets pulled

Is your Sohal a PITA? I've been thinking about fish, mainly tangs lately and I'm probably going to skip on a Sohal. I hear of too many aggression issues with them. Someone told me that his friend's Sohal tries to cut him whenever he puts his arm in the tank.

I am so excited to see the achilles eating algae off the rocks and swimming around the whole tank. Sometimes when you add a fish, they find a cave and it takes them awhile to get comfortable, not this one. :)

The sohal's actually Jim's (Jim_S). I have seen John's from YR acrually bite him when fragging. I love the sohals, but I am passing on one in this tank.

What other tangs are you thinking about?

The reason I wanted a 6' tank was to accomodate an Achilles. My wife wants a PBT. Other than that I was considering a Red Sea Naso, Chocolate Yellow Mimic and a Sohal.

I hear CLown tangs are as bad as Sohals when they get big. That's another tang my wife and I both like.

Thats a pretty nice list. I had dreams of pairing my PBT with an achilles, but that is out the door. I've heard that the clown tang likes a lot of flow and their survival rates are not that good.

I've had a blonde before and they get pretty big. I went to a local reefers today and his was 12-14 inches long and it made two frags when I was there.

Is the PBT too aggressive for the Achilles?

LOL. The Naso you saw today fragged two pieces from a coral? Yeah, maybe I should take that one off the list too. What the hell is left to put in a tank? At this rate I'll only have 2 tangs, 2-3 "reef safe" angels, a bunch of anthias and chromis.

I lost my PBT in my transfer/ich disaster. They are very similar and like to battle. I do not know many tanks where both can be housed long term. I really wanted to keep them, but since they stress each other out, its constant ich city.

thats a very pretty fish, good to see him eating already.

Thanks Bart. I was really happy to see him attack the PE mysis when I got him in the tank. I want to feed him again just because :D

If I could, I would have a tank with 8-10 tangs, 10-15 wrasses and 15-20 anthias. Ahhh, It feels good to dream.

how often is nori giving to main display?

Now that I have a tang in there, I will be putting a 1/2 sheet in there everyday. Its funny that the cleaner wrasse has been nipping at the nori clip of late.
