Thanks Ed. Do you shoot in manual mode and manual focus with your D70?

"Vesuvius" is mighty Red Mark, I might have called it "Hot Damn".

No - I now shoot in Auto focus mode but in the 'A' setting in the pre-set dial.. :( Any tips on how to shoot in manual mode?

"A" mode is when you want to conecentrate on you f-stop (aperature mode). I usuall shoot 16-24 for more depth of field.

"M" mode is for manual mode which allows you to control exposure. That is what I like to control the most.

Ed, I must put out a disclaimer that I am not a professional photographer. I have only been using this camera since November, so I am still learning evrytime I shoot and process.
I just started sthooting in Raw about three weeks ago :( What a difference.

Feel free to comment or ask questions whenever you want. We are all in this together :D

Thanks Mark - will take a couple of shots this weekend in the "M" mode and see how it does.... :rolleye1:

Ed- In M mode, you can look through your viewfinder and see the bars that show underexposed vs overexposed. That is the dial that I have found allows for a good RAW image. The rest is up to how good your focus eye is ;)

I finally got my Vortechs back tonight :)

All I can say about ecotech is thank you for your great customer service.

Mark - did they do the gen2 upgrade? lemme know if they're any quieter

Yes, they did do the gen II upgrade on both wet sides. I also sent one driver back and they flashed the new modes to it as well.

BTW Terry, I can't hear much, especially because I can only hear all of those Lakers fans whining with excuses already

Mark, how does the night mode work? Does it have a sensor? How does the vortech know it's night? Btw, I got the gen 2 magnet upgrade and it works perfectly.

I don't know. I am still just happy that they are back in my tank. They do seem quieter. A couple of the other guys also agree as well.

Old magnets were rusting so Ecotech finally encapsulated them. The rust issue is now history and we don't have to replace the magnets ever again.

Mark - since you have both Tunzes and new VT's, how do they compare in regards to noise?

It depends. The only mode that makes any noise on the VT is the pulse mode. I use the random reef crest mode though. I can not wait until the new 6205's come out. I might have enough flow then.
