Mark's 40 Breeder build

Hi guys, welcome back Brett - hope your trip was enjoyable!

Got some bad news concerning my tank - I made the difficult decision to take it down. :(

Crazy that it has only been running for 4 months but it isn't the right time for me to have a reef running - we are looking to get a house in the near future and the expense of a tank doesn't mix with a home loan application!

Getting everything in order to list for sale locally. But will keep tabs on everyone's build thread to see your tanks evolve.

This has been a fun experiment and has given me good experience with areas of reefing I haven't tried yet - specifically using TBS rock, a decent skimmer from the start, building my own stand, & the fuge at the end of the sump instead of in the middle.

Things I would consider changing next time: lighting (will watch the direction LED technology goes and if prices drop more), consider a more aggressive crab capture from the beginning (may use the club soda method to flush any and all crabs from the rock right from the start). I do like the B.A. take on overflows and the C2C is an interesting idea and can look real nice .

Until next time!

Mark
