Mark's new build

Awesome looking canopy. I had to do the same thing with my DIY T5 LED for my frag tank. I used black acrylic and made it taller to set the ballast on top.

I have a friend who is getting that same skimmer, but dont know anyone else who has it. Very interested to see how it performs. Where did you order yours from?

Awesome work on the slimline shroud for the ATI module mate, the whole setup looks cool except for the missing acros.......... :)

I've said it before, but I gotta say it again... Great build!
So clean and meticulous (and a little devious using the kitchen table for acrylic work!)
Super nice! I wish I had the patience and talent to make a system so clean.
Still love the scape and still can't wait for livestock!

I am very impressed with skimmer, this is about 18 hrs. later, straight from the box, no rinsing, dry clean sand, ceramic rock, I think this skimmer can pull stuff from nothing. Very thick , stable foam.
Can't imagine what is going to be once I add fish.

That skimmer looks amazing!

Your DIY skills are great, Mark; that acrylic floating canopy is top-notch!

....I'm still very jealous of that light...and skimmer. :lmao:

Thanks, there is no bowing at all , I guess the 48" length is not long enough. On longer screens I would recommend a support in the middle.

Thank you very much. I hope you don't mind but I kind of stole your idea. I finally have a screen for my tank and I can get the fish I really wanted without having to worry about finding a piece $100 fish jerky on the floor. To top it all off I love the outcome. Thanks again.

I am glad that my idea works for you, and you can keep all the fish you want. I saw picture of your screen top you sent me, looks awesome.

Mark, what made you switch from the Skimz to ATI? Was there an issue with the Skimz or you just want to have all matching equipment (ATI)?

Hi, no there was no issue at all, Skimz is by far the best skimmer I had, up until this point. I had two reasons , one I think with my current plan to stock fish very lightly, I thought that Skimz might be just too big, and will not perform correctly. ATI has a controllable pump, that I can adjust to match my system better. Plus , yes, I wanted to have ATI brand. So far the new skimmer is doing great, but I have to wait once I stock my tank, to have better idea how good really is. Again, I would use Skimz skimmers in a heart beat, I like them even better than Reef Octopus skimmers. If for some reason my new ATI will not perform, I will go back to Skimz.

Not a huge fan of my SRO skimmer. Keep us up to date on the ATI and its performance. The tank looks fantastic, from the lighting canopy to the scaping. Very aesthetically appealing.

Hi Mark,

Great looking setup, I've finely caught up on your build. Just have a few questions if I may?

1. How was the packaging when the CeramEco rocks arrived? Not too fragile?

2. Do you have a link showing more info on the Xaqua INOUT system? I'm very interested in it. I saw the video link.

3. I presume your enjoying your ATI Hybrid? The unit looks amazing. I know you said that you made the floating canopy to block the excess light spillage but why didn't you just lower the light unit and turn the intensity down? Was that an option?

4. How many power plugs are on the ATI Hybrid unit?

Thanks
