My yellow tang has white marks on his head. I have attached a photo. He eat and swims around I just noticed it when I bought him a year ago and I thought it was normal, I have now noticed that its getting worse. Any thoughts. Also sorry for the blurry photo he's always on the move and hates the camera

up the feeding of algae sheets, increase small water changes to keep water in top condition. and check your carbon. I like to have carbon reactor outlets run through filter socks.

I feed frozen food with vita chem and selcon. People say it's over doing it but you never know.. tangs look nice and fat

I use these both two along with a few other things... There is never too much

We purchased a used tank back in August and brought home a yellow tang with hhle MUCH worse than this fellow. I did not realize how bad the poor guy was until we got him into the 300 gallon with our yellow tang. Side by side the contrast was stark.
We feed a mix of high quality frozen foods supplemented by daily nori.
Now, six months later, it's almost impossible to tell the two fish apart.

Additives are great but not a substitute for quality food and good water quality.

No charcoal in tank. I have a wet dry that overflows into a sump with some grass and a protein skimmer. I have been feeding all the fish some flake foods, gum drop frozen food (brine shrimp) and I also puts sheets of seaweed in time to time. I will up the seaweed for him.

I prefer feeding fish home made frozen.. but if that's not an option, continue feeding the flakes. switch out the brine shrimp to mysis. increase the nori to daily.
