Marksreef 93G Rimless Cube Build

Hi.
After bing away from the hobby for a long while, I couldn't help my-self to start up again and see all what is new.
I started my stand and got the tank in so moving along a little faster now. The stand need a few more coats and I will be drilling (for the first time) this week for the Glass Holes 1500 gph Overflow Box and 2 returns for a clean look.
I'm still unsure about a return pump with such a large return and don't expect to even come close but I liked the idea of the 2 hole return and was thinking of the Tunze Silence Electronic Recirculation Pump 1073.05 controllable with 795 gph or go with a larger one but don't see the need for that much flow to the sump.
Thanks for looking and much more to come.

Almost done

Almost done

One more day of touch ups on the stain,

then on to 2 coats (hopefully) of poly then I can move it into it's spot while i finish the doors and drill the tank.
I'm now considering a sicce syncara 5.0 and think at around 4 ft. head it should give me 1167 G.P.H. into the 1500 g.p.h. overflow and that should be plenty.
Thoughts?

I can see the stand framed, the stand unstained, teh stand stained, and the kid in tank pic... not sure how many you tried to post.

Sick Can't wait to see what it looks like I just got into the hobby and have a 25 gallon rimless cube and love it

Sump arrived

Sump arrived

My sump arrived today and it looks great. The skimmer is tight but it looks like it will work.
I'm glad I built a custom stand to get a 30" sump in and a side door for maintenance.
Next up is drilling the tank.

Nice Trigger sump. I have the 30Ruby and I found it easier to put my skimmer, SRO2000int, in the second chamber. It became a PITA to change out filter socks with the skimmer there.

Kingoftheisland, thanks.
It is a Marineland rimeless cube 30x30x24 93 Gallons. They only came with a corner overflow so I ordered it without and will attempt do drill it my-self.
HiImSean,
This is a Ruby 30 too. It looks great as well as what I wanted in a sump. The skimmer is VERY tight in there but with the side door, I hope it can stay and not end up in the center as I was to put a fuge or algae scrubber in there. Time will tell.
BigCountry74, This is about my 5 tank and I am always a fan of the stand being nice too especially in the living room. I tried at cost cutting this time and built it my self. Time consuming but I'll have a fraction of the cost compared to having someone do it for me. No wife anymore but can impress my future X wife with it :lmao:
jacksonpt, It is a trigger Ruby 30. You can google it and see the different models they have.

My dream tank size/dimensions. Following for sure! :D What lights will be going over this tank? Stand looks VERY nice!

Hey, sahib.
It is going to be ATI 8x24 but I won't order it till everything is up and running and on it's way to cycling to prolong the warranty. I'm not quite sure if it will be with the L.E.D. or not but that is the plan. ATI for sure...
I just received the parts for my custom light tree from 80/20. Its going to be made out of aluminum T-Slotted Extrusions with the corner brace for strength.
Next up.
clear coat (poly) the stand
Drill the tank.
build light tree.
Then I can get the tank up there and in it's spot to do some plumbing and get the doors on.

There is a couple of BEAUTIFUL 93G tanks running the ATI 8x24w units...its on the other forum so I am not allowed to link it here. But whether you go for the LED version or non LED version those 8x24watt units grow corals so nicely over the 93G tanks...actually I can link the Youtube video no problem....

Here it is: BEAUTIFUL tank!

Wow, one could only wish to get their reef looking like that.
One more coat of Poly and while waiting for the last to dry, I put my custom light tree together.
As soon as the last coat dries and I get up the nerve to DRILL, I'll get the tank up there (can't wait) and get some plumbing done.

I made some progress this weekend.
Drilled the tank and plumed and leak tested. I have the 2- 1 1/2 inch returned reduced to 1 inch because the 1 inch bulk heads on the sump but that may have to go (new sump?). I believe it needs to flow free and not road block.
I also gave my rock an Acid bath.

I built a few reverse durso's (they were coming up higher then the pic) and was having gurgling at the sump out.
I made a bunch of different lengths under water and put 45's on them and WAY better so it looks like it will stay this way. It will be even quieter when the doors go on.
Time to drain it and move it so the electrician can get back there after work to run a dedicated circuit.
I also bought 2 new 250 watt heaters that really don't fit. Maybe 2 200 waters might do. I'll have to check the size's
