Marksreef 93G Rimless Cube Build

Thank you everyone

Thank you everyone

I finished the doors and put them on. My warranted parts for my pumps are in so I can finish wiring everything up.
There are some high phosphate reading leaching from the rock (Tonga Branch) I need to take care of them before I start the cycle. My G.F.O. reactor will be here wednesday but I'm going to do a %100 water change now. It will take 2 days for the R.O.D.I.

Looking great! Love the stand and the amount of access into the sump area. Rockwork looks great too.

Thanks.
Sahin, that is one reason I built the stand myself. 2 doors and 32X32X30Tall inside dimensions. Outside it is 36" tall
I knew I'd have to make the most room you can under a cube.
I got my Apex hooked up and operation on my computer and cell phone today. That is going to be nice knowing what is going on when I'm away and getting text alerts if something is wrong...

Thanks, everyone.
Due to the high PO4's leaching out of the rock. I just finished a %100 water change. I don't have a problem doing another one in a few days but I sure am crossing my fingers they at least come down in half and stay there. Then do another %100 and run a lot of GFO after the cycle
I don't want to start this tank w/ high Po4's and get the BAD algae outbreak right away

looking great, im starting a 93 cube build here soon, and i like the extra width on that stand you built, would you be able to provide some basic plans or drawings on how its all put together?

Thanks, everyone.

Where did you get the rocks from?
Did you do anything to clean or wash the rocks first, (muriatic acid bath, etc)?

I just got new rock from both Marco Rocks and some shelf rocks with base from BRS. All of it got a muriatic acid bath and is now soaking in RODi water to remove any residual acid etc...

I got them from a friend and they sat for 2 years dry. I did do the acid bath.
If I were you, I would, while in the tubs soaking.
Add saltwater, let sit for a few days then test for PO4's. If you have to treat with L.C. you can do it right in the holding container.

lc?

Ahhh.....Interesting.
I'd read about in a book, but IIRC, it was implied that it was difficult and somewhat dangerous to use.

Where could I get some LC if decided to go that route?
How much would I use?
Would a powerhead in the rock container being treated with LC be beneficial, or not needed?
Why add salt to the container and then test for PO4? Just by osmosis/diffusion if PO4 is going to leach out of the rocks, its most likely going to so in RODi more so than ASW made from RODi. Adding salt just seems like a waste of salt to me....

I'm not bashing, I'm curious and you know more about this than I do.
