So why does my maroon clown go down to the sand bed and stir it all up? She only does this in the sand arround her host mushrooms... I had a different maroon a while back and she would do the same.
It's a very common behavior for maroon clowns and one of the reasons my clown went to live a in new tank. I also guessed that they were looking to stir up live food into the water column.
Mine did this until it's anemone moved up the rockwork a little. The clown followed the anemone and the further away from the sand it got, the less it did this. So my suggestion is to move the host up away from the sand.
Yeah thanks... since the one she sleeps in is the lowest one, but it is in the middle of the tank (height wise) I am just gonna let her be... I am just really curious why they do it... but clown fish do wierd things anyway.
