I am about to get an anemone for my clown. I would like to get two different kinds and set them up on different sides of my tank. (my tank is 82 inches long)

Can I do this and what kind do you suggest? (LOVE the purple long tentacle on liveaquaria)

Can I eventually, possibly add another clown type later down the line. (i can split my tank in two if needed)

Bubble tip.......Check out the top of the clowns and anemones threads I think that there is a link to which works best in theory for what thype of clown..

You have several maroons? I want to get another..this is what I told will work...

Get another maroon soon (even a goldstripe) Get one anemone and put it on one side of the tank. When the one clown takes to it, get another anemone and put it on the other side of the tank.
(its 82 inches long)

What do you think?

mine both ignore my condy in favor of a patch of protopalythoa, a BTA really is "most compatible" with maroon clowns due to them naturally occuring the the same areas and maroons preferring them in the wild. condylactis dont even live in the same hemisphere.

My condy has been ignored completly by my maroon clown. I want to get a BTA, but I'm not sure if my lighting is enough though. 4x54w T5s, parabolic reflector, 120g 48x24x24 tank.

Just stick with the BTA, even though it's more money.

maroon clownfish natural host would be a bta.

having said that, anemones are not a necessity for clowns in home aquariums.

I would advise against getting two anemones to curb aggresion. if anything I see this magnifying the problem. get a large female and let her adjust for a while and settle into her anemone and then introduce a much smaller male.

I second what stykthyn says. I had a maroon host a LTA but left the bubble alone. She eventually tore off all the tentacles on the bubble tip. She was very gentle with the LTA.

Large females can be too agressive for even large BTA. I have 2 females and 2 males (maroons), hosting carpet anemones on opposite ends of a 150. The trick is to introduce the clowns at the same time.

Hope this helps...carpets are another option.....

My Gold stripe Maroon is 2-1/2inches loves LTA, BTA, Haitian, and Condy's, currently is hosting a LTA
