maroon clown/ocillaris clown

Has anyone here on reef central tried to keep these two types of clowns in the same aquarium. I want to put a rose anemone in a tank that already has a LT/Oc clown pair and I know that the maroon will most likely host the rose. It is a 6 foot tank (125 gal,). I suspect I can make it work initially when the maroon is small but will they work long term is the question. Anyone here done it or tried it? let me know how it came out.

In a 6' tank you have a very good chance of it working long term. The Maroon will stay near it's anemone and if the false perc wanders near it the Maroon will chase it but only about a foot from it's anemone. The morron will then stop the pursuit and return to the anemone. After a while the False Perc will learn to stay on his/her side of the tank.

This would never work in a 4' tank because they can see that far. I would try it in a 6' tank though. Don't see why it would be a problem. My GS Maroon never goes more than a foot from her anemone.

Thanks for your reply reefneck. Isn't there any one else that has an opinion on this? I can't believe that so few have anything to say. Surley some of you have tried mixing different clown species.

I have a maroon and an ocellaris in a 75. Been that way for about 6 months. The ocellaris was there first. There weren't any anemone's until about a month ago. Never had any real problems, just territorial and the maroon chased the ocellaris off. Introduced a GBTA, which the maroon took to within a couple of hours and does just like Reefneck described. The ocellaris pretty much stays on one side of the tank and always has. I would say this is not the norm, but I got them both young, knew the risks and wanted to try.
