Maroon Fish Breeding

MatedPair

New member
So after reading quite a bit about breading my clown fish i have decided that i don’t have the time to do it which saddens me greatly. I just added a baby gold banded maroon to my reef tank about 2.5 weeks ago to see if i could mate him with my female that i have had for about 4 years. In about 3 weeks of being together they have laid eggs!!! I never thought it possible in such a short amount of time but it happened.

I guess what im wondering is that since i will not be breading them i imagine they will hatch and die in my power heads or be eaten by the other creatures in the tank right?

I really don’t know how to feel to tell you the truth. I was so happy for my female that she finally was able to have a mate and lay eggs and it saddens me that i know they are doomed to die.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Nice and sad at the same time...
Go find a fellow breeder so he/she can take the eggs or the larvae when they hatch and you can follow the babies a little longer and help someone not so lucky to have their pairs breeding so soon !
Anderson.

Don't feel bad. Raising fry is time consuming and sometimes not rewarding.

Congrats on successful pairing and spawning :)

I think purplehaze is in Rio.
